Surfing Tomorrow Launches Free Surf Forecasting Website for Southern California, Powered by BODI
San Clemente-based Surfing Tomorrow launches a free SoCal surf forecast site built on public NOAA and Scripps data, with BODI, a fun AI surf buddy, and free alerts.
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — September 26, 2026 — Surfing Tomorrow today announced the launch of surfingtomorrow.com, a free surf forecasting website built for Southern California as its first market. The site gives surfers, beginners and anyone curious about the ocean a clear, fun answer to the biggest question in the lineup: when and where will the waves be good?
Built on free, trusted public data
Surfing Tomorrow's forecasts use publicly available ocean and weather data from trusted sources, including NOAA buoys and tide stations, Scripps Institution of Oceanography's CDIP nearshore wave models and Open-Meteo weather forecasts. The team combines that data into its own wave model, which sizes the surf break by break. It takes into account swell direction, swell period, wind, tide and how each spot handles different swells.
The site launches with 47 breaks across San Diego and Orange County, from Oceanside and Black's to Trestles, San Clemente and The Wedge. Every break has its own page with a current rating (Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent or Epic), estimated wave size, a best session time for tomorrow, tides, wind, water temperature, water quality and a 7-day outlook.
Meet Bodi, the surf forecaster who only talks surfing
At the center of the experience is BODI, Surfing Tomorrow's forecasting technology and its AI surf buddy. Bodi is a laid-back Southern California surfer who reads the forecast data and turns it into friendly, useful advice. Visitors can type or talk out loud with him on any page to ask where the best spots are right now, what tomorrow looks like, or where the swell is coming from.
Bodi only talks about surfing: forecasts, breaks, boards, wetsuits, surf culture and the pro tour. He doesn't store personal information, and conversations disappear when visitors leave the site.
"Surfers deserve forecasts that are free, honest and actually fun to use," said the Surfing Tomorrow team. "Bodi makes checking the surf feel like talking to a buddy in the lineup."
Free alerts so you never miss a swell
Surfing Tomorrow also offers free email alerts and phone notifications. Surfers pick their favorite breaks and how far ahead they want to know, and Bodi sends a heads-up when conditions are looking good. The site also publishes daily Southern California surf news and swell outlooks.
